Battersea Park Arena in south London became fashionable at one go on the first weekend of June when hundreds of fashion students converged for the opening of the Graduate Fashion Week The event, taking place now for the 15th time, offers the British art schools and their young talents opportunity to show their collections and to be "discovered".
This year 42 British schools took part in the event, out of which 20 were given to opportunity to showcase their best designs. Among this lucky group was also Finnish fashion student Nora Sotamaa, whose collection appeared on the catwalk on the opening day.
Nora has studied fashion design in the Winchester School of Art for 4 years. The highlight of her graduation from the school this summer was the chance to take part in the Graduate Fashion Week show with her own collection. Nora finds stylish men clothes hard to find, that is why she decided to take action and design her own collection for men.
The collection called "Sen" offers ecological, biodegradable and sustainable clothing for stylish, urban men. The clothes have been made using organic fabric and thread. Nora tells that she wanted to design a collection, which would be both enviromental friendly, modern and fashionable at the same time. The young designer has drawn inspiration for "Sen"- collection from her holiday in the Finnish countryside last summer.
