Over the past decade, Finnish artist Pilvi Takala has developed a body work which unpicks those conventions created within micro-social environments.
Breaching Experiments brings together several of Takala’s recent film based works as well as two performances to take place during the exhibition.
Her works are often filmed covertly, capturing and observing or in some cases re-enacting seemingly bizarre social situations. Awkward, provoking, uncompromising and at times unbearably embarrassing, Takala exposes the unspoken rules of society and draws intrinsic conditions to the surface.
The exhibition will culminate in a performance:
Money Making Strategies That WORK
3 November 2012, £10 (with 200% money back guarantee)
This will be the first UK edition of Takala’s performative lecture, which will take place in Sheffield during the exhibition period. This motivational talk promises to show attendees how it is possible to get anything they want, effortlessly.
Tickets are £10, but the artist offers a 200% (£20) refund for anyone who is not satisfied after the event.
