Finland is bidding immigrants a warm welcome. The attractions of working in Finland include good working conditions and high employment security. Even the intriguing Finnish language poses no barrier to newcomers willing to make an effort. Last year some 22,500 people migrated to Finland.

Luke at the Spy MuseumLuke's Kidzone Trip to Finland: Sauna, Sailor Hats - and a Shark

On 30 May, 10-year-old Luke Pearce from Liverpool got up early to go to Manchester Airport and fly to Finland. Luke had taken part in Kidzone Finland's creative writing competition for kids aged 8 to 11, and Kidzone's patron Michael Morpurgo picked his shark poem as the best of more than 100 entries. As a prize, the Embassy of Finland in London organized a trip to the Finnish town of Tampere for Luke and his father Mark.

Finnish photographer Tiina Itkonen will hold an exhibition at Michael Hoppen Contemporary Gallery from the 3rd of September until the 10th of October. The exhibition is built around photographs of icebergs and the unique landscape of Greenland.
