The London Children’s Film Festival, a cinematic extravaganza for the capital’s young film fans and their families, returns to the Barbican and twelve cinemas across London from Saturday 30 October to Sunday 7 November. This year the festival opens with a Moomins-themed Finnish breakfast party, followed by the London Premiere of Moomins and the Comet Chase in 3D!
The London Children’s Film Festival returns for its 6th year. Boasting the pick of the best new international children’s films and brimming with special events, previews and workshops, the LCFF is a unique opportunity for young Londoners to delight in little-seen celluloid treats from around the world and be creative at the same time. As always at the LCFF, films come from all over the world: Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, the USA, Sweden, France, Belgium, South Africa, Germany, India and Japan.
Spread over two weekends, the London Children’s Film Festival is packed with Special Events. The festival opens on Saturday 30 October with a Moomins-themed Finnish Breakfast Party (10.00am) attended by Moomintroll and followed by the London Premiere of Moomins and the Comet Chase in 3D (4+), a brand new film adaptation of the ever-popular book series written by Tove Jansson. And throughout the day, in the Make Zone (5+), children can get creative and design their own Moomin trolls.
Due to popular demand, second screening of the Moomin film will take place on Monday, 1 November at 6 pm on at Barbican Centre.
Moomins and their friends are back and in 3D! Moominvalley is in danger. A cloud of grey dust has covered everything and the sky has turned red. Moomintroll, Sniff and Snufkin set off on a brave journey to the professors who must know what’s happening. Featuring the voices of Stellan and Alexander Skarsgard, Max von Sydow and Peter Stormare. With the Comet song by Björk.
