Rubber boots, the original Nokia

Fun Finland: The Original Nokia

Although they don't shout about it, and the fact certainly doesn't appear in their annual report, Nokia started life making rubber boots. The company gets its name from the town of the same name where it was founded in 1865. The rubber boots are still made today but by another company called 'Nokian Jalkineet' or 'Nokia Footwear' to you and me. The perfect accessory for anyone with a Nokia mobile phone.
