Bespoke-designed performance space REDDRESS debuts in London

Following the success of HEL YES! last year, The Finnish Institute in London is delighted to unveil its next project for London Design Festival: REDDRESS. Designed by Aamu Song, REDDRESS is an interactive installation and performance space in the form of a colossal, red dress. REDDRESS binds all involved together with something more than just emotion; it is a physical exploration that further strengthens the connection between them. Read more

PM Jyrki Katainen: Finland's success highly dependent on that of European Union

"Finland cannot turn its back on Europe, nor does the answer to Finland and Europe’s challenges lie in returning to the past", outlines Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen his views on the future of the European Union. According to Prime Minister, the answer to current challenges lies in improving Europe's ability to function, rather than in 'less Europe'. Read more

English wildlife photographer turned Finnish bear cubs into celebrities

Photographer Jules Cox caught the media's attention in the UK in August with his images of playful bear cubs taken this year in Finland. Cox's marvelous photos reveal the rarely seen cuddly and playful side of bear cubs and their mother. The summer light of the midnight sun in Finland made it possible to photograph the bears throughout the night when they are most active. Read more

JA JA JA - A Nordic Affair is back with an incredible line-up

After its annual summer hiatus, the UK’s no. 1 Nordic night is back. JA JA JA returns to Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, London with a line-up consisting of Sykur (ICE), LCMDF (FIN) and Sondre Lerche (NOR). The Finnish sister duo LCMDF are all Technicolour energy, stabbing synths, tropical vibes and pure, unapologetic alt-pop; a sound Notion magazine aptly described as “explosive and maximilist”.
