´Accordion Wrestling´ is a riveting live show featuring film, music performance and choreographed wrestling.

Kimmo Pohjonen: Accordion Wrestling

Following sell out shows in a Dorset Quarry and on English farms, Kimmo Pohjonen returns to the UK with Accordion Wrestling, a landmark Finnish event that celebrates one of the original sports of the ancient Olympics during 2012. Accordion Wrestling combines sport, theatre, dance and music. The first show will take place in Manchester 6 June, the second in London 8 June. Read more

Circo Aereo's hit modern circus show Petit Mal returns to the UK

Wild physicality comes at you with nonchalant daring, on a stage littered with garage debris. Break-dancing and hip hop fuse with a Chinese pole, trampoline work and acrobatics. Petit Mal emerges from the Finnish underground, ready for a theatrical riot. Petit Mal is an exciting modern circus show, filled with entertainment and action, and you can get a couple of good laughs while you’re at it. Music Export Finland invests heavily in the UK market

Music Export Finland’s target market for 2012-2013 is Britain. In the coming two years, the main goal will be to increase the export of music and to promote the visibility of Finnish music in the UK. Although Britain’s internal market is relatively small, British influence has global reach from the US to the rest of Europe, even Japan. “If you succeed in Britain, you will be successful everywhere else”, says Riku Salomaa, Project Manager for UK at Music Export Finland. Finnish Lessons: what could UK learn from the educational change in Finland?      

Finland is one of the rare countries that has managed to build a school system where all children learn well without harsh competition, long school days and extensive testing and homework. Packed audiences both in Edinburgh (May 2) and London (May 17) came to listen to Finland's top education policy expert, Dr Pasi Sahlberg, as he described the history of Finnish educational reforms and examined the success of the Finnish education today.
