Nine Finns at the London Jazz Festival

This year’s edition of London Jazz Festival includes a special program entitled Finnish Jazz at London Jazz Festival. From November 9 to 17, the festival programme is pumped up by exhilarating constellations of Finnish jazz talent, among others, Verneri Pohjola Quartet, Oddarrang, Black Motor and Iro Haarla. London Jazz Festival is not the only opportunity to explore Finnish music this autumn - there is so much more! In 2012-2013, UK is the focus market for Finnish music and there has never been a better time to get together and launch music activities with the Finns. Pasi Sahlberg at the London Festival of Education

Dr Pasi Sahlberg, Finland's top education policy expert and the author of best-selling book "Finnish Lessons", will return to London this month. Dr Sahlberg will be speaking at the London Festival of Education on November 17, giving a global view to a session titled 'What makes great teaching'. Read more

An afternoon at the LSE with President Martti Ahtisaari

In this event on 26 November, Martti Ahtisaari, former President of Finland, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and United Nations diplomat and mediator will take questions from the audience, sharing his thoughts and experiences on resolving conflict and building peace gained over five decades. The event is free and open to all, however a ticket is required. Read more

Christmas Fair + Scandinavian Christmas Market join forces

The Scandinavian Christmas Market is taking over the street outside the Finnish and Norwegian churches in Rotherhithe, London, on 23-25 November, which is also the opening weekend of the traditional Christmas Fair at the Finnish Church. Join in the festive fun and get your Christmas shopping done at the same time. Read more

Food Diplomacy to strengthen Nordic brand through culinary experiences

The Nordic Council of Ministers aims to strengthen the Nordic countries' international brand through culinary experiences. One way of doing this is to through a more conscious use of raw ingredients in the Nordic embassies and the Nordic companies around the world. Read more
