
The Finnish Embassy’s Consular Section serves Finnish citizens and foreigners living permanently in Finland with matters involving Finnish authorities, such as passports, notary services and certain specific legal transactions, family law, citizenship and military service.
The Consular Section assists Finnish citizens in distress, gives information on the services provided by Finnish authorities and the legal protection available to private citizens, and advises on general procedures related to legal or administrative matters in Finland and the UK. The Finnish Embassy also arranges for absentee voting in Finnish elections.
Foreign citizens can consult the Embassy’s Consular Section on matters related to visas and entry permits (e.g. residence permits).
The Consular Section’s customer service is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 12noon and on matters concerning Finnish passports also from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. The afternoon opening hours are meant primarily for people who live outside London.

The Consular Section is closed on British and Finnish public holidays.
